PINK, pink, Pink, PiNk!

I have worked at Victoria’s Secret for many a year and one comment that I just can’t stand anymore is the comment of, “That’s not PINK!” Because it is!! And I’m sick and tired of these stupid comments to the point of dying my hair pink (not really) and ripping it out (definitely not really)! It’s time to set the record straight!

First there’s the color pink like all the colors used in this article: they’re just different shades of pink just like how the different capitalizations of the letters in pink refer to different meanings of pink. Which leads us to…

Pink, the musical artist. So if you were to see a cute black tee that says, “I love Pink!” and you say, “That’s not Pink,” in that smug, I’m-so-smart-(but not really) tone of voice you have, well now, you just sound stupid because clearly the tee isn’t Pink, because Pink is a musical artist, a person, not a t-shirt.

Then there’s PINK WHICH SHOULD NEVER BE CONFUSED WITH pink. One is a brand, the other is a color, respectively. When you see clothes that aren’t pink but say, “I LOVE PINK!” It is not referring to the color, it’s referring to the brand. So when you say, “Pfft. That’s not PINK!” You are so incorrect because it is PINK! So don’t say, “That’s not PINK!” You just sound like an ignorant, arrogant, dumby pants that can’t tie his shoes!

Then, of course, there’s PiNk, which stands for what pink is: feminine, fun, and flirty, which I totally just made up! But I like my invention of PiNk so much that I think I’ll make an ivory tee that says, “I love PiNk!” on it. So when you see me and my fans wearing it, ARGH! I’ll bite you if you say, “That’s not PiNk!” Because it is! And btw, I draw blood when I bite!

So we have: pink = color, PINK = brand, Pink = musical artist, and PiNk = the meaning of pink. To sum up:

PINK is not pink is not Pink is not PiNk! Don’t say stupid stuff ignorant peons!

On the other hand, if you see an orange tee that says, “pink,” on it, feel free to say, “That’s not pink!” Because it isn’t.

K, love your face! 😀
