Forgetting Isn’t a Bad Thing

Forgetting has gotten a bad wrap. I think it’s because we get yelled at as kids for forgetting our homework, our chores, showering… Heck, we get yelled at as adults for forgetting things! But forgetting in and of itself isn’t a bad thing. I for one and grateful that a loving Heavenly Father forgets our sins when we repent and forgives us. So there are things that aren’t bad to forget.

Now, this may still seem like a jump, but stick with me on this one: Happiness isn’t something you can fake. It’s not something you can go after or pretend to be. In my experience happiness comes when you stop trying to get it and just live your life, love your friends and family, do nice things for people (which is especially fun to do to mean people), do your best, and, somewhere along the way, forget you were ever sad.

See. Forgetting ain’t so bad after all.
